classic Scottish rivers

Five days exploring some of the best grade 3-4 whitewater Scotland has to offer. This is a guided trip — a chance to get out and paddle the Highlands' classic rivers in good company, with experienced guiding, local river knowledge and on-water safety taken care of so you can focus on enjoying the water.

We'll chase the best conditions across some of the Highlands' finest runs — think the Spean Gorge, Roy, Orchy, Etive and Findhorn — though the rivers we actually paddle depend entirely on water levels and the forecast.. Wherever we end up, the aim is the same: to seek out quality grade 3–4 whitewater and make the most of every day on the river.

And while the focus is firmly on exploring and enjoying these classic rivers, I'll coach you where appropriate along the way — a few pointers on a tricky rapid, a line dialed in, a skill sharpened — to help you paddle them well and get the most from the experience.

Five classic days, great company, and a proper Highland whitewater adventure.

River Moriston coaching Days

The Upper Moriston is a true Scottish classic and one of the finest places in the UK to make the leap to grade 4. Short, steep and packed with quality — Top Drop, Sticky Hole and the Cheesegrater.

We'll break the rapids into manageable chunks, show you the lines, and dial in the boof and water-reading to fire you over the drops in control. With guaranteed dam-release water and sessionable features, you'll get to lap the rapids of focus.

Happy on the garry but feel nervous of the moriston? Come join us for a supportive day to gain that moriston confidence and open up your doors for so much more summer boating!

River Garry coaching days

The Garry is one of Scotland's best-loved grade 3 rivers and a brilliant place to develop your whitewater. Reliable summer dam releases mean quality water when everything else is bone dry, and you get the lot: a beautiful gorge, cracking play waves, and friendly drops to dial in your boof.

Whether you're consolidating your grade 3, getting confident on read-and-run rapids, or sharpening your moves on the play features, we'll break it down, build your confidence, and have you styling lines by the end of the day — alongside other paddlers keen to push on.

Whitewater coaching built entirely around you. Whether you're finding your feet on grade 2, chasing your first confident lines on grade 3, or stepping up to harder, more committing water, every session starts with your goals — the skills you want to nail, the rapids that scare you a little, and the paddler you want to become.

We'll pick the right river for your level and the day's conditions, break things down at a pace that suits you, and get you paddling with more skill, confidence and control. Want to dial in your boof, sharpen your breaking in and out, read water more confidently, or commit to bigger lines? We'll make it happen.

Bring your paddling buddies and pay less each — from £250 one-to-one down to just £100 a head in a group of four.

Long-term development coaching also available.
